The Shore Group Civils team started on site in September with the first phase of the 42-week Morgan Sindall Construction project.
In the first phase known as the ‘Outdoor Sports Hub’ we have installed the infrastructure for the site set-up requirements, including a 2000m2 macadam car park, a 1500m2 piling mat and the temporary drainage and services requirements.

The team have also carried out Vacuum Excavation to safely identify existing services within the area of our proposed works.
The current update on the ‘Outdoor Sports Hub’, we are halfway through our part of the RC Works, which should be completed end of next week in readiness for the RC frame. The beginning stages have also commenced on the Skate Park where the area has been cut and filled, with the installation of soakaways, lighting ducting and paths. Furthermore, this phase started with us carrying out the safe location works to expose all existing underground services.
Shore Group Civils MD, Rob Green said "It’s great to be underway on the project working with Morgan Sindall. The Kingsway to the Sea project will transform the area and make a huge difference to Brighton and Hove residents. This project carries extra significance for us as it’s so close to our Group HQ. As well as the project delivery, we’re working closely with Morgan Sindall to deliver employment benefits for the local community to support the overall project legacy."
