99% Project Waste Recycling

Kier the main contractor on The Forum Kings Quarter site challenged us to reduce waste by 41% on site, which has been exceeded. Furthermore, the recycling rate currently is surpassing 99%.

This results in cost savings, and enhanced site operations, with notable environmental advantages. We're incorporating the best practices from this project into our future projects to ensure they become an integral part of our standard operating procedures.

Well done to Kier Group, our Logistics site team and everyone working on the project going above and beyond to meet environmental targets.

Half Marathon Success!

James Hobden, our co-founder and Ashley Perry, our Management Accountant took on the Brighton Half Marathon on the 25th of February on behalf of our partner charity Turning Tides.

They raised an impressive £678 in total. Both runners crossed the finish line with admirable times: Ashley Perry finished in 1 hour and 44 minutes, while James Hobden completed it in 2 hours and 9 minutes.

Well done to both for supporting Turning Tides and to everyone who donated!

Brighton and Hove Community Focus Civils

Our Civils division recently welcomed Chris onboard our team delivering Morgan Sindall Construction’s ‘Kingsway to the Sea’ site. The finished project will be hugely significant for the Brighton community and the legacy is reinforced by Morgan Sindall Construction’s commitment to using local suppliers and generating local employment.

Chris joins The Shore Group with support from FedCap, an amazing not-for-profit organisation supporting people back into employment, who we have supported in the past under our Ethical Recruitment strategy. Chris is currently working and training on-site in multiple capacities, such as Traffic Marshall, Labourer, and Groundworker, furthermore, he has also completed his CLOCS training (Site Access Traffic Marshall Training) provided by Morgan Sindall Construction. This presents an opportunity for him to enhance his skills in residential projects to more diverse commercial roles.

Attending and Sponsoring the Overbury Charity Quiz Night

BoostPay, our Group payroll company, proudly sponsored the Overbury Charity Quiz Night, an event that truly exemplified the spirit of giving. It was a privilege to be involved in such a remarkable occasion, where the construction industry came together to support worthy causes.

Charities benefiting from the fundraising effort included: The Brain Tumour Charity, Cure Parkinson’s, Dallaglio RugbyWorks, Impact Dance Foundation, Crisis, The Brain Tumour Charity, Sported, Fair Shot, The Children’s Trust and The Bow Foodbank Ltd.

The event generated an astounding £250k during our attendance, with far more contributions continuing to pour in after we departed. This substantial sum will undoubtedly have a profound impact on the selected charities. Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this incredible success, as each donation, big or small, played a crucial role in making a difference!
